2026 BUDGET GUIDE

The Best Field Service Software Under $50 a Month (2026)

Five tools genuinely under $50/month — with the catches the headline prices don't mention: job caps, per-user pricing, and seat minimums. Every number below was pulled from each vendor's own public pricing page on the date shown, because the listicles in this space are reliably stale.

Full disclosure: we build FSMsync, and it appears in this comparison. Every price on this page comes from the vendors' own public pricing pages, verified July 17, 2026, month-to-month against month-to-month — judge the math yourself.

Everything actually under $50 — and each one's catch

For a one-person shop, here's what each tool costs and where the limits are. "Not listed" means the feature or limit doesn't appear on the vendor's pricing page — we don't guess.

Tool Price (month-to-month) Users Job cap QuickBooks sync Automated reminders
Upvoit Growth $20/user/mo Per-user pricing Not listed Not listed Not listed
FSMsync Solo $29/mo flat 1 None
ServiceM8 Starter $29/mo flat Unlimited 50 jobs/mo
CrewOpsPro $39/mo flat Up to 10 Not listed ✓ (QBO export) Not listed
Field Ascend Pro $13/user/mo · min 3 users ($39) 3 minimum Not listed Not listed Not listed

Where are the big names? They don't play under $50: Jobber's true cheapest is Core at $49/mo month-to-month (the advertised $29/mo is its annual-billed price) and it can't sync QuickBooks or send automated reminders — full Jobber math here. Housecall Pro starts at $79/mo. The cheapest just-over-the-line option with QuickBooks sync and reminders is Kickserv Start at $60/mo. ServiceM8 also offers a genuinely free plan (1 user, 30 jobs/mo). All prices verified July 17, 2026.

How cheap pricing actually works

Job caps

ServiceM8's $29 Starter allows 50 jobs a month — fine for low-volume shops, but a busy solo operator running 3–4 calls a day blows through it and lands on the $79 tier. A flat price with a job cap is a per-job price in disguise once you're busy.

Per-user pricing and seat minimums

Upvoit's $20 is per user, so the price grows with every hire. Field Ascend is $13/user with a 3-user minimum — an honest team product, but it means the real floor is $39 even if you're one person. Flat-tier pricing (ours, ServiceM8's, CrewOpsPro's) is the shape that doesn't move when you add a helper.

What's not on the pricing page

Several tools in this bracket don't list QuickBooks sync or automated reminders on their pricing pages. Maybe they have them, maybe they don't — but if a feature you depend on isn't in writing on the page that sets your bill, ask before you subscribe. We marked every such cell "Not listed" above rather than guessing.

Where FSMsync fits at $29

FSMsync Solo is $29/mo flat, month-to-month, with no job cap and every feature included: scheduling, estimates with AI drafting, invoicing, payments through your own Square account, QuickBooks Online sync, automated reminders, and CSV customer import. When you hire, Team is $69/mo flat for 2–4 users — techs two through four cost $0 extra.

What we don't have, plainly: a two-way texting inbox, and customer self-serve online booking. If those are must-haves today, they exist elsewhere — at prices well above this page's ceiling.

Budget questions, answered straight

Is there good field service software under $50 a month?
Yes — verified July 17, 2026 from each vendor's own pricing page: Upvoit Growth at $20/user/month, FSMsync Solo and ServiceM8 Starter at $29/month, and CrewOpsPro and Field Ascend at $39/month. Each has a different catch — job caps, per-user pricing, or seat minimums — so read the fine print, not just the headline price.
Is Jobber's $29 plan under $50?
Only if you prepay a year: the advertised $29/mo is Jobber Core billed annually, and month-to-month Core is $49/mo. Either way Core can't sync QuickBooks or send automated reminders — the cheapest Jobber plan that can is Connect, at $139/mo.
What's the catch with cheap field service software?
Usually one of three things: job caps (ServiceM8 Starter allows 50 jobs a month), per-user pricing that grows with your crew (Upvoit is $20 per user), or seat minimums (Field Ascend requires 3 users, so it starts at $39). Flat-price tools avoid those, but check what features the vendor's pricing page actually lists — if it isn't listed, don't assume it's included.
What does FSMsync leave out at $29?
Two things worth knowing before you sign up: FSMsync has no two-way texting inbox and no customer self-serve online booking. Everything else a small shop runs on — scheduling, estimates, invoicing, payments through your own Square account, QuickBooks sync, automated reminders — is included at $29/month with no job caps.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No. FSMsync is month-to-month with no annual contract and no setup fee, and you can cancel anytime, self-serve, from your billing settings. Card payments run through your own Square account at Square's standard rates — we never hold your money.
