2026 SWITCHING GUIDE

More Affordable Options to Housecall Pro — With the Honest Math

Housecall Pro's advertised $79/mo Basic plan ($59 billed annually) includes online booking, but QuickBooks sync isn't listed on it — the cheapest plan that lists it is Essentials, at $189/mo. FSMsync Solo is $29/mo flat, month-to-month, with QuickBooks sync and automated reminders included.

Full disclosure: we build FSMsync. Every price on this page comes from the vendors' own public pricing pages, verified July 17, 2026, month-to-month against month-to-month — judge the math yourself.

What each Housecall Pro plan actually includes — next to $29 flat

Housecall Pro prices by plan and by seat count, and the feature small shops most often switch for — QuickBooks sync — isn't listed until Essentials. Here's the full grid, month-to-month and annual-billed side by side.

Plan Month-to-month Billed annually Users included QuickBooks sync Automated reminders Online booking Two-way texting
Housecall Pro Basic $79/mo $59/mo 1 Not listed Not listed Not listed
Housecall Pro Essentials $189/mo $149/mo 5 Not listed Not listed
Housecall Pro MAX $329/mo $299/mo 8 (+$35/mo each) Not listed Not listed
FSMsync Solo $29/mo — (mtm only) 1

The advertised $59/mo for Housecall Pro is Basic billed annually; month-to-month Basic is $79/mo, and QuickBooks sync isn't listed on it either way. Only MAX shows add-user pricing ("Add users for $35/mo each"). If you're a 2–4 person shop, the honest FSMsync comparison is Team at $69/mo flat vs Essentials at $189/mo. "Not listed" means the feature doesn't appear on the vendor's pricing page — we don't guess. All prices verified July 17, 2026.

What you give up, what you keep

What you give up leaving Housecall Pro

One real thing: customer self-serve online booking — Housecall Pro includes it on every plan, even Basic. FSMsync doesn't have it. We also have no two-way texting inbox (Housecall Pro's pricing page doesn't list one either — we don't guess). If online booking is a must-have today, Housecall Pro earns its price, and we'd rather you know before you switch than after.

What you keep at $29

Scheduling, estimates (with AI drafting), invoicing, card payments through your own Square account at Square's standard rates, QuickBooks Online sync, and automated customer reminders — nothing gated behind a higher tier. And credit where due: Housecall Pro is a polished, feature-deep product built for growing multi-tech teams. But it publishes no solo-operator plan or track — its own materials treat solo as a stage to outgrow. If you're one truck, or three, you're buying an org chart you don't have.

The switch math, both framings

FSMsync Solo is $29/mo, month-to-month, every feature included. Against the Housecall Pro plans that list QuickBooks sync:

$1,920/yr
vs. Housecall Pro Essentials at $189/mo (vs. its annual-billed $149/mo: $1,440/yr)
$3,600/yr
vs. Housecall Pro MAX at $329/mo (vs. its annual-billed $299/mo: $3,240/yr)
$1,440/yr
for a 2–4 person shop: FSMsync Team $69/mo flat vs. Essentials $189/mo (vs. annual-billed: $960/yr)

At $29 a month, the tool doesn't have to change your business to justify itself — it pays for itself if it saves you one hour a month, at any plausible hourly rate. And when you hire: Team is $69/mo flat for 2–4 users, so techs two through four cost $0 extra.

What we don't have, plainly: customer self-serve online booking, and a two-way texting inbox. If booking is a must-have today, Housecall Pro earns its price. If it's not, you're paying for it anyway.

Your customers and open balances come with you

Your customer list comes over

Export your customers from Housecall Pro to CSV, and FSMsync's import wizard maps the columns and brings them in — names, contacts, addresses, the lot. There's no one-click converter, and we won't pretend otherwise: it's CSV-based, and it works.

Open invoices come too

Unpaid balances import as clearly-marked imported invoices — they're there to get collected, and they stay out of your revenue reporting so your numbers start clean.

Or we'll just do it with you

Send us the exports and we'll do the migration together — you get a working account back, not a to-do list. It's a small company; you'll be talking to the person who built the importer.

Other affordable Housecall Pro alternatives

We'd rather be the page that told you the truth than the page that hid the competition. If FSMsync isn't the fit, these are the honest options:

Kickserv Start · $60/mo · 5 users

The honest budget runner-up. Start includes QuickBooks Online sync and automated email/text reminders, and the 5-user allowance is real room to grow. No free plan exists despite what older listicles claim — Start at $60/mo is the floor.

Choose Kickserv if you expect to add helpers soon and want budget headroom for five seats.

Jobber Connect · $139/mo · 5 users

Cheaper than Essentials for the same QuickBooks-syncing basket, and it includes online booking on every plan. Know the pricing shape: the advertised $29/mo is Core billed annually ($49 month-to-month), and Core can't sync QuickBooks or send automated reminders — the cheapest plan that can is Connect at $139/mo.
